Box Sorter Light

Box sorter makes housekeeping easier in multiple ways

  • An intuitive interface that is visible while looting boxes allowing players to select its category.
  • The selected category is displayed both by changing the skin of the box and by displaying the category while looting.
  • Two carefully placed buttons enables quick moving of category items and sorting of items already in the container.

Food is always default category for refrigerators and independent of its skin

To use this, first open a box.

Under the box inventory, you’ll see “Box Sorting”. Depending on your UI settings on the server, you may have the Skill Tree XP bar here or the Backpack icon here. I recommend you turn those off with /togglexphud command (Skill Tree) or /backpackgui (Backpacks). The XP bar can be moved to another place on the screen with the /movebar command. To designate a box for one specific category, such as weapons or clothing, click on the respective button. The box will be reskinned to a category specific skin.

You will notice the category name is now in the Box Sorting UI and the box has been reskinned. To move only the items in that category to the box, press the arrow in the top right of the inventory UI, next to the new Sort button. This will put all items of that category into the box. Note: You can manually put anything you want into the box.

You can use the new Sort button to sort the contents of the box or you can use the old Sort button that is in the container’s UI. Both work.

If you use /remove on the box, it loses it’s category, but you can deploy it again and reselect the category. The category can be changed at any time by clicking on the current Category name in the Box Sorting UI.

Virtual Quarries

Virtual Quarries plugin (https://codefling.com/plugins/virtual-quarries) is a large upgrade to quarries in RUST. You can create and place quarry that will dig any type of resource and access them all over the map! VQ’s work as follow:

Buy or craft a quarry and several survey charges. You will need 1 survey charge for each attempt to find the resources you want to mine. Next, type /vq to open the Virtual Quarries menu. Press the + symbol.

On the next page, click on the Search button. One Survey Charge will be used. You may or may not uncover resources. If you are happy with the resources you found, continue to the next step. If not, continue pressing Search until you’ve found what you want or until you are out of Survey Charges. When you found what you want, click on the Place button as seen below.

Once that is done, you’ll be brought to a screen like the one below where you can put fuel in your VQ and start/stop/delete it.

Instanced Quarries, Pumpjacks and the Giant Excavator

Another aspect of VQ is that it allows for instanced quarries, pumpjacks and Giant Excavator. With this enabled, all three of these will be running 24/7. You just have to put in the diesel and the resources will be generated. No one can access anyone else’s fuel or resources. At the Giant Excavator, the resources will appear in both hoppers, so if you take it from one, it’ll be gone from the other. This allows multiple players to run all of these locations without fear of losing their fuel or resources.

Bag of Holding

The Bag of Holding plugin (https://lone.design/product/bag-of-holding-rust-plugin/) spawns special bags that start off with the ability to store specific categories of items in each bag. For example, you may find an XXSmall Weapons and Ammo bag. In this bag you could only put, naturally, weapons and ammo. Bag of Holding can be upgraded using scrap. If you upgrade a bag enough, you can put anything in the bag. You are no longer restricted to the category of the bag. Bags of Holding spawn randomly in loot containers.

Water Bikes

You can take your snowmobile in the water with the Water Bikes plugin! There’s nothing special to do. Just get a snowmobile and hit the water. It works with spawned snowmobiles and the spawnable snowmobiles you buy in the shop.

Custom Vehicle Modules

This plugin lets you build several different types of vehicles:

Buoyancy module. Adds a buoyancy point to the car. The modules should be placed symmetrically or in the center of the machine in order to allow it to float well.
Turret module. The module works only if there is a driver in the cabin. It can contain any number of turrets. If the car is closed, then other players will not be able to authorize in its turrets.
Jet module When the shift button is pressed, the car accelerates with the help of jet propulsion. For each module of this type, the thrust force and additional fuel consumption can be configured. Any number of fire rocket launchers can be placed on the module.
Remote control module A camera is installed in this module, for which you can change the frequency. Knowing the frequency, you can connect to the car using a computer station and control it.
Underwater module Allows the car to move underwater.

The modules can be crafted at any work bench, using the custom Crafting Menu.

Water Bases

This plugin allows you to construct bases on the water! Read about the plugin here: https://lone.design/product/water-bases-rust-plugin/

To build on the water, you need to craft water foundations. Equip and open your Building Plan. You will see two buttons in the bottom right corner that say Craft Water Foundation (Triangle) and Craft Water Foundation (Square). You’ll need wood and frags to craft these foundations. Open your inventory so you can use your mouse to click on these buttons. Make as many foundations as you think you’ll need for the water.

Find a location in the water where you want to build. Keep in mind the tides go up and down and the water foundation does NOT float with the tide. Place one foundation in your quick bar, press the number for that item and press the Fire button to place the water foundation. This is the same process for placing deployables like furnaces and chests.

Next, you will switch back to your building plan and place FLOORS. Do NOT place more water foundations. As you place each floor, one water foundation is used up from your inventory. If you attempt to place a floor without a water foundation, it will not work.

Your foundations can be reinforced by hitting a water foundation with a hammer. You must have a water foundation in your inventory. This allows you to then build down to the bottom of the sea! The screenshot below shows a reenforced water foundation next to a regular water foundation.

Reenforced foundations can also have nets added to them. These nets can capture loot, and even fish! To do this, equip your building plan and select Wall Frame. Line it up with the bottom of the reenforced foundation and you will see the ghost image. Place the Wall Frame. Next, place a net in that frame.

  • Because water foundations are treated as floors with the stability of a foundation, you can place roofs at “ground level”, which is not possible with normal foundations!
  • Similarly, you can leave a “hole” where a water foundation would be and place a floor frame with a hatch instead – now you can enter your base from the bottom, underwater!
  • Reinforcing a water foundation means you’ll be able to build down from the surface to the bottom of the water to create extra layers of protection, or…
  • Nettings deployed in wall frames underwater will collect random junk items with editable loot tables, including fish and diving equipment! This feature is heavily configurable and can even be disabled.

The stability of the water foundation is always 100% and goes down the higher you built. The stability of a reinforcement foundation also starts at 100% and goes down the deeper towards the seafloor you build. All the decaying things (walls, floors, doors etc) will require appropriate upkeep materials in the Tool Cupboard. Structures can be repaired, demolished, upgraded and removed using plugins. Bases can be raided, taken over or left to decay.

Grid Power

Draw electricity straight from the Power Grid in Rust – on any map, be it a procedurally generated or a custom one! Ladder up the Power line Poles to upgrade their Transformers with components like Root Combiners (to replace missing/stolen/destroyed outlets that you plug into)  and Tech Trash (to permanently upgrade power output level, up to a configurable point). Maintain the service with long-lasting Fuses. But most importantly, protect your precious part of the grid from vandalism, theft and sabotage that will inevitably come from those jealous players!  Whatever you do, just be careful up there… high voltage happens to be highly dangerous. Always wear protective gear (like a hazmat suit) and don’t touch the wires while they’re live! As a bonus, this plugin also improves vanilla visuals with realistically hanging wires / hoses / Xmas lights, the slack of which (how loose they appear to be hanging) can be adjusted while placing. And this feature is completely optional, too. Goodbye, straight lines that look like steel rods – hello, actual laws of physics!

On our server, the settings have been made so that you can use 1 fuse for the entire wipe. No need to keep going up there to swap out fuses. The pole does NOT have to be within range of your TC. When you go to place the ladders on the pole to climb it, they will appear red, but you CAN place the ladders.

The power only works from 8am to 6pm. You can use the power to charge up batteries or to directly provide electricity to items.

A complete guide to using this can be found on the Grid Power plugin page at Lone Design: https://lone.design/product/grid-power-rust-plugin/

Base Repair/Auto Base Upgrade/BGrade

This page will explain three plugins, as they all have to do with base building.

Base Repair

Base Repair allows a player to repair their entire base by hitting a wall with a hammer after typing the /br command to toggle on this mode. The base will repair itself until it’s finished or there’s not enough resources in the TC to repair. This feature is particularly helpful if you find your base damaged by NPC’s.

Auto Base Upgrade

The Auto Base Upgrade plugin lets you upgrade your entire base from your TC. This option is ONLY available to VIP players. There will be a button in your TC UI that says Upgrade. First, select the materials you want to upgrade to by clicking on the resource icon. Clicking on it cycles through the materials. Once you’ve got the right level selected, click on Upgrade. Your base will slowly upgrade until it is done or there are no more resources in your TC to upgrade with.

The image below shows the Upgrade button. The Repair All button is not part of this plugin.

BGrade

BGrade lets you automatically place building parts at a certain level, for example, while placing foundations, you can have it automatically place stone foundations.

To do this, you issue the command /bgrade 1/2/3/4. Each number represents a level:

  1. Wood
  2. Stone
  3. Metal
  4. Armor

ie: /bgrade 3 would allow you to build Metal parts.

You must have enough wood plus the materials to upgrade to in order to upgrade automatically while building. So, to build stone foundations, you would need both wood and stone in your inventory.

Rafts and Viking Ships

Fully upgradeable raft with a Sail mode to leisurely cruise around the map or up and down rivers as well.

Add Sails, Walls, Roof, Netting, Passenger Chairs and Campfire to your raft as upgrades. Each upgrade cost materials. Which amounts can be changed in config file. All signs on raft are paintable and compatible with Sign Artist, so show off our artistic skills while cruising the high seas.

Chat Commands:
/raft – will display help text for player with all commands listed.
/raft.build – players with permission and materials can spawn a raft while standing in knee deep water.
/raft.addroof – players with permission and materials (5000 wood) can upgrade there raft with a roof. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.addwalls– players with permission and materials (2000 wood) can upgrade there raft with walls. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.addsail – players with permission and materials (3000 wood) can upgrade there raft with a sail. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.addnet– players with permission and materials (3 rope) can upgrade there raft with a net to the roof. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.addfire – players with permission and materials (100 wood) can upgrade there raft with a campfire and lantern. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.addchairs – players with permission and materials (2 chairs) can upgrade there raft with 2 passenger chairs. only usable while sitting in pilots chair.
/raft.destroy – Only builder player can use this to destroy there raft wherever it is in the world. Player does not need to be seated in chair. Does not give back materials. will improve this later.
/raft.setsail – Enabled Sailing Mode, raft will move forward automatically for you. Must be seated in chair to enable.

Jetpack

This plugin adds the Jetpack to the server. You can find it in loot crates or you can buy it at at Outpost. To use it, equip it to your clothing inventory. It takes the hands/gloves slot. Once it’s in your inventory slot, you have to press the middle mouse button or type /jet to start it.

Keys:
Space – thrust;
w/s – pitch axis;
a/d – yaw axis;
Shift/Ctrl – cren axis;
Middle mouse button – put on/take off the jetpack.
